EBENEZER GLORIOUS CHURCH OF CHRIST – THE GLORIOUS CHURCH

WE BELIEVE THAT THE BIBLE

Both Old and New Testaments is the inspired Word of the Living God, the infallible, all sufficient to teach, direct and reproof for correction in righteousness 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV)
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

2 Peter 1:21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. “

You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.” (Jn.5:39)

WE BELIEVE IN THE UNITY OF THE ONE TRUE AND LIVING GOD
Who is the Eternal, Self-Existent “I AM, before Me there was no God formed, Nor shall there be after Me.” (Is. 43:10) “Is there a God besides Me? Indeed there is no other Rock; I know not one.” (Is. 44:8). Who revealed Himself as One being co-existing in three Persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: [a]The Lord our God, the Lord is one” 2 Corinthians 13:14 14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the [a]communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.” (Jn. 1:1-3) (Also Job 38:4-7) “For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit, and these three are one.” (1 Jn. 5:7,8**) “But when the Helper comes whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.” (Jn. 15:26) (Also, 2 Cor. 13:14; Mt. 28:19; Rom. 8:11; Jn. 16:7-14) **“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel…” (Mt. 1:23)

WE BELIEVE IN THE FALL OF MAN
Who was created pure and upright, but fell by voluntary transgression. So God created man in His own image.” (Gn. 1:27) “We have turned, every one, to his own way;” (Is. 53:6) (Also, Gen. 6:12; 3:9-19) “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned” (Rom. 5:12) “…by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners…” (Rom. 5:19) Also, Jn.3:6; Ps. 51:5; Rom. 5:15-19;8:7) “among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.” (Eph. 2:3) (See Rom. 1:18, 32; 2:1-16;** Mt. 20:15; Gal. 3:10; Ez.18:19, 20)

WE BELIEVE IN SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN CHRIST
who, according to the Scriptures, died for our sins, was buried and was raised from the dead on the third day, and that through His Blood we have Redemption. 1. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.” (Is. 53:5). 2. “Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.” (Titus 2:14). 3. “Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the LORD, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.” (Is. 55:7). 4. “Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.” (Heb. 7:25). 5. ”Come now, and let us reason together,’ Says the LORD, ‘Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.” (Is. 1:18)

THE NEW BIRTH
It is known as an instantaneous and complete operation of the Holy Spirit upon initial faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (Jn. 3:3). 2. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” (2 Cor. 5:17) 3. “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” (Gal. 2:20) 3. “Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed.” (Rom. 3:24, 25) 4. “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night.” (Ps. 1:1, 2)

REPENTANCE, BELIEVE AND BAPTISM BY IMMERSION
We believe that, when people repent for their sins and accept Christ, they are justified through Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross. To repent means to be sorry for sins, but it also means to turn away from a sinful lifestyle. Accepting Christ means believing in Him as the only Savoir. To be justified means being declared “not guilty” in regard to sin (Romans 10:9-10; 1 John 1:9). Matthew 28: 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit., Acts 2:38-39 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are a far off, as many as the Lord our God will call. Acts 10:47- 48, 47 – Can anyone object to their being baptized, now that they have received the Holy Spirit just as we did?” 48 So he gave orders for them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Afterward Cornelius asked him to stay with them for several days.

WE BELIEVE IN THE HOLY COMMUNION / LORDS SUPPER LUKE 22:14-20
We believe in the commemoration of the Lord’s Supper by the symbolic use of the bread and juice of the vine (I Corinthians 11:23-32, 25; 1Cor. 11; 28; 2Cor. 13:5)..
The bible says as OFTEN as you DO this 23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; 24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, [a]“Take, eat; this is My body which is [b]broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 25 In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This does, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.

(NOTE) AS OFTEN AS YOU DO THIS IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME
26 FOR AS OFTEN AS YOU EAT THIS BREAD AND DRINK THIS CUP, YOU PROCLAIM THE LORD’S DEATH TILL HE COMES.
14 When the time came, Jesus and the apostles sat down together at the table. 15 Jesus said, “I have been very eager to eat this Passover meal with you before my suffering begins. 16 For I tell you now that I won’t eat this meal again until its meaning is fulfilled in the Kingdom of God.”
17 Then he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. Then he said, “Take this and share it among yourselves. 18 For I will not drink wine again until the Kingdom of God has come.”
19 He took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
20 After supper he took another cup of wine and said, “This cup is the new covenant between God and his people—an agreement confirmed with my blood, which is poured out as a sacrifice for you.
** Lk 22: 19 – And He took the bread and when he had given thanks, he broke it and when thanks he broke it and gave it to them, saying, This is my body, which is given to you. Do this in remembrance of me.

o We believe that all who have truly repented and believe in Christ as Lord and Saviour should regularly participate in Breaking of Bread. Luke 22:14-20
o 1 Corinthians 11:20-34

WE BELIEVE THE BAPTISM WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT
It is an experience that follows salvation. All believers have God’s Spirit within them. Holy Spirit baptism empowers believers to exalt Jesus, to live lives of holiness, and to be witnesses of God’s saving grace. We believe that those who experience Holy Spirit baptism today will experience it in the same manner that believers experienced it in the early church; in other words, we believe that they will speak in tongues—languages that are not known to them (Acts 1: 5,4,8; 2:4). 4 Once when he was eating with them, he commanded them, “Do not leave Jerusalem until the Father sends you the gift he promised, as I told you before. 5 John baptized with water, but in just a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit. V8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. V24 Then they all prayed, “O Lord, you know every heart. Show us which of these men you have chosen. Acts 10:44-46, 44 Even as Peter was saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell upon all who were listening to the message. 45 The Jewish believers who came with Peter were amazed that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles, too. 46 For they heard them speaking in other tongues and praising God. Acts 11: **14-16. 14 He will tell you how you and everyone in your household can be saved!’
15 “As I began to speak,” Peter continued, “the Holy Spirit fell on them, just as he fell on us at the beginning. 16 Then I thought of the Lord’s words when he said, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.

WE BELIEVE IN DAILY LIFE OF HOLINESS AND CONDUCT IN OBEDIENCE TO THE COMMAND OF GOD
We believe that people who have been born again grow in sanctification—which means that they separate themselves from the value system of the world and embrace and live according to the values of the kingdom that Jesus proclaimed. As they do so, they increase in holiness, faith, power, prayer, love and service (2 Corinthians 7:1). We believe that Christians should avoid excess and that their moderation should be obvious to others. Their commitment to Christ should be deep and sincere, but they should not indulge in or lead other people into extremes of fanaticism. Christians should be well thought of, balanced, humble and self-sacrificing, reflecting Christ’s grace and character in all areas of their lives (Colossians 3:12, 13; Philippians 4:5). 1Peter 1: 14-16, 14 So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then. 15 But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy.16 For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy. Heb 12:14 Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.

WE BELIEVE IN DIVINE HEALING.
We believe that Jesus Christ heals people who are sick. God does not change; He is still willing and able to heal the body, as well as the soul and spirit, in response to faith (Mark 16: 17, 18; James 5:14-16).

WE BELIEVE IN SPIRIT FILLED LIFE
We believe that born-again believers should be people who pray and who allow the Holy Spirit to shape their values and behaviours every day; their lives should exemplify love, honesty and sincerity (Ephesians 4:30-32).

WE BELIEVE IN THE GIFTS & FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit gives ministry gifts to believers; in other words, the Holy Spirit gives people special abilities for ministry. These gifts will build up groups of believers and help them mature in Christian faith (1 Corinthians 12:1-11). Further, Spirit-filled believers should show the spiritual “fruit” that has been given to them: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, self-control (Romans 12:6-8; Galatians 5:22-25).

THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, the everlasting conscious bliss of all who truly believe in our Lord Jesus Christ and the everlasting conscious punishment of all whose names are not written in the Book of Life. We believe that the second coming of Christ is personal and imminent; we are as certain that His second coming will occur as we are that His first coming is a historical fact. No one knows the exact time of His coming, but believers will continue to spread the gospel around the world until He does come again. At that time the Lord Himself will descend from heaven, the dead Christians will be resurrected, and believers will be taken up to meet the Lord in the air (Matthew 24:36, 42, 44; 1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17) Daniel 12:2-3
JOHN 5:28-29
1 CORINTHIANS 15: 22-24
MATTHEW 25: 46
2 THESSALONIANS 1:9

JUDGMENT
We believe that everyone will stand before the judgment seat of Christ. Born-again believers will be sent to a place of everlasting life, and nonbelievers will be sent to a place of everlasting punishment (Revelation 20:11, 12; 2 Corinthians 5:10).

HEAVEN
We believe that heaven is the habitation of the living God and the eternal home of born-again believers (John 14:2; Revelation 7:15-17).

HELL
We believe that hell is a place of darkness, deep sorrow and unquenchable fire, which was not prepared for man but for the devil and his angels; it will become the place of eternal separation from God for all who reject Christ as Saviour
(Matthew 13: 41, 42; Revelation 20:10, 15).

TITHES AND OFFERING
We believe that the method ordained of God for the support and spread of His cause is by giving of tithes and free-will offerings (Malachi 3:10; 2 Corinthians 9:7)

WE BELIEVE IN PRAYER
Praying is a vital part of every Christian’s faith, Prayer is talking to God. Christians believe that God created everyone to be in relationship with him, and that he loves to hear from each one of us as. In prayer we bring our request to God, we communicate our request to go, we are commanded to pray. Matthew 6:9-13
